Security Advisory And Service Packs
We have a cautious approach to the application of Microsoft security advisories and service packs. One reason for the caution is that often buggy patches are released. Other reason for the cautious approach is the sheer impossibility of testing any software release against the numerous possible combinations of hardware and software that exist in the real world.
We subscribe to several security bulletins, receive e-mail alerts, and regularly monitor websites and internet forums. This ensures that we are always aware of the latest security advisories.
Our security team monitors the feedback on the latest patch/security pack on internet forums for 2-4 weeks. If there is a negative feedback on the patch for the environments we support, we delay the approval of the patch.
